BIOGRAPHY:
Jelena Balić (25) is a young photographer form Split, also known due to an incident with Lee Jeans company which used her unauthorized photo ‘Krik i bijes’ for their advertising campaign. She is currently a student at Faculty of Graphic Arts, division Graphic design, and has been doing photography for 4 years now. After a workshop she did within Art­ists in residence program, organized by the Austrian ministry of education, arts and culture, Jelena was given a chance to exhibit in Museum of Modern Arts MUMOK in Vienna. Moreover, she has participated in program Fotosofia and until now she has done 5 solo and several group exhibitions.

About Blur: I was very much pleased to hear about BLUR since its beginnings because in Croatia there is definitely a lack of high quality photo magazines which are available to everyone. Due to its high quality level, inspirational photos, great columns and interviews, I am very happy whenever I have the chance to be presented inside of BLUR. I am proud to be selected as the first exhibitor in program FULL CIRCLE. The feedback on the exhibition was excellent and I am very satisfied with the works selected and exhibitions’ organization in general, which was completely overtaken by BLUR’s editor, to whom I would like to thank once more. It is a great initiative since there is a evident lack of support and investment into young hopes of Croatian photography, and I am sure how FULL CIRCLE will manifest that it makes sense doing this. I am very much looking forward to all future exhibitions!
